Sweet Rosé Wines · Fruity + Tasty

Sweet Rosé Wines · Fruity + Tasty

Here you will find semi-sweet and sweet rosé wines directly from the winery – fruity, easy-drinking and handcrafted in the south of Rheinhessen.

How Do Sweet Rosé Wines Taste?

Sweet rosé wines taste very fruity and easy-drinking. They are ideal summer and party wines. They are enjoyable “stand alone” in a convivial setting, but also pair well with snacks, cheese and many dishes such as grilled light meats, vegetarian cuisine, sweet-and-sour dishes or light desserts.

When served well chilled, sweet rosé wines are refreshing while remaining light and fruity.

How Do Semi-Sweet and Sweet Rosé Wines Taste?

Semi-sweet and sweet rosé wines are characterised by pronounced fruitiness supported by their pleasant sweetness. The sweetness does not feel heavy; instead, it highlights the fresh fruity aromas and gives the wines their light, easy-drinking character.

Depending on grape variety and vinification, different fruit nuances such as fruity and berry notes emerge. Colour also varies by variety, ranging from delicate pink to rich salmon tones.

You will find further details in the individual tasting notes of each rosé wine.

Enjoying Sweet Rosé Wines

Semi-sweet and sweet rosé wines pair well with spicy or sweet-and-sour meat and poultry dishes as well as grilled foods. They harmonise nicely with vegetarian cuisine, rice and pasta dishes, and also with a cold supper of cold cuts, ham or cheese.

As summer and terrace wines, they offer fresh, fruity enjoyment when served well chilled.

A large, generously shaped wine glass allows the bouquet of a sweet rosé to unfold at its best.

Serving Temperature for Sweet Rosé Wines

Served well chilled, sweet rosé wines appear particularly fresh and balanced, allowing their fine fruity notes to come to the fore.

Which Grape Varieties are Used to Produce Sweet and Semi-Sweet Rosé Wines?

Almost all red grape varieties are suitable for producing rosé wines. Exceptions are only very intensely coloured or particularly tannin-rich varieties.

Red Grape Varieties for Sweet and Semi-Sweet Rosé Wines

For our sweet rosés we use the following grape varieties:

  • Dornfelder, very fruity with a rich rosé colour
  • Pinot Noir, a classic Burgundy grape variety in a fine rosé style
  • Moscato Rosa, a very rare red aromatic bouquet variety

Sweet Rosé Wines – Quality You can Taste

Pinot Noir, a semi-sweet rosé wine

Our sweet rosés are German quality wines, cultivated, vinified, matured and bottled with great care:

  • from perfectly healthy, very ripe grapes
  • pressed quickly and gently
  • only crystal-clear filtered must is fermented
  • slow, temperature-controlled fermentation at low temperatures
  • extended ageing on the lees to develop aromatic expression

Quality Assurance and Control

The quality of a rosé wine does not depend on whether it is dry or sweet. In sweet rosés, not all of the natural grape sugars are fermented into alcohol.

Certified Quality

  • Only flawless sweet rosé wines with varietal-typical aromatics are bottled.
  • After the required laboratory analysis, the wines undergo the official quality wine examination by the Chamber of Agriculture.
  • Only after successfully passing this examination may the rosé wines be labelled “German Quality Wine”.
